Dr. Rai has been associated with some of the leading hospitals in as consultant HPB and transplant surgeon. He did his MS from KEM hospital in Mumbai and then spent 15 years abroad training in HPB and transplant surgery in few of the best centers in UK and USA. He has worked as Consultant transplant surgeon in King Fahad specialist hospital in Saudi Arab and in Apollo Hospital, Bangalore. Special interest - Cadaveric and living donor liver and kidney transplantation, pancreas transplantation, complex hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery.
HPB and Transplant training -
He trained in Royal Free Hospital London, Freeman Hospital, Newcastle and Queen Elizabeth hospital, Birmingham. He completed his speciality FRCS and was awarded CCST ( Certificate of completion of Specialist training). He is registered on speciality register in General Medical Council, London. Dr. Rai also trained in USA for three years and finished his American Society of Transplant Surgeon (ASTS) recognized fellowship in Liver, Kidney and pancreas transplant from University of Tennessee Memphis, USA. He trained in Asan Medical center and in Samsung Medical center in Seoul in living donor liver transplantation.

More than 100 international presentations and numerous publications in International journal. He has also written book chapter and authored a book. He is a reviewer in surgical journal.
